President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, pursued his meetings on the sidelines of the Arab Summit held in the Tunisian capital on Sunday by holding talks with Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas.
Both men stressed the seriousness of the American decision to annex Jerusalem to Israel, and the need to strengthen the unity and solidarity of Palestinians in order to remain steadfast to restore their land and ensure their return to their homes, which they were forced to leave.
Abbas thanked Aoun and the Lebanese government for hosting Palestinian refugees, stressing "the insistence of the Palestinian leadership not to neglect the right of return."
Later, President Aoun met with Russian President's Representative to the Middle East, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, in the presence of Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil and President Aoun's main advisor, Marie Aoun Hashem.
Bogdanov conveyed the greetings of Russian President Vladimir Putin and praised the success of the Lebanese-Russian summit recently held in Moscow.
The encounter was a chance to discuss a number of points agreed upon during the summit and ways in which Russia can assist Lebanon in various fields. Bogdanov stressed the positive climate that prevailed over President Aoun's meetings in the Russian capital.
