Maronite Patriarch, Mar Bechara Boutros Rahi, appealed to Lebanese politicians to assume their responsibility, steer clear from personal interests, and form a government that is capable of protecting the country.
Speaking at a reception organized by Antoine Eid, the Lebanese Consul in Montreal, the Maronite Patriarch regretted the current situation in the country. He expressed concern over the growing national unity and economy threats.
"A former Lebanese prime minister said that Lebanon was not exhausted but rather more looted," Rahi said. "It's a shame for us and for politicians, especially after the three international support conferences, that the Lebanese State does not begin implementing reform projects to help recover the national economy," Rahi added.
