Bahrain’s press freedom strides in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa were hailed.
In a statement on the eve of Bahrain Press Day, which falls on May Day, the Shura Council’s Services Committee hailed the margin of openness and freedom of expression and opinion enjoyed by the fourth estate in the Kingdom.
Chaired by Dr. Jehad Abdulla Al Fadhel, the committee congratulated Bahrain’s national press community, hailing HM the King’s care, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
She stressed the vital role of the national press which is an essential partner and key pillar in supporting the work of the legislative branch of government.
She praisied the valuable contributions of journalists and their active role in enriching public opinion and highlighting facts in total transparency and impartiality.
Dr. Al Fadhel stressed the keenness of the legislative branch of government to support the fourth estate to assume its national duty by endorsing soon the amended law on the press and publishing.
