Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh has praised the royal directives to vaccinate Bahraini citizens residing abroad against the coronavirus (Covid-19). He described the move as an extension of the humanitarian approach of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and a reflection of his noble paternal care for the health and safety of citizens inside and outside the kingdom.

The Shura Council Chairman took pride in the royal directives which, he said, came at a time Bahrain continues its distinguished efforts to combat the pandemic. He stressed the kingdom’s pioneering steps in this respect thanks to the directives and tremendous support of HM the King. He also lauded the dedicated efforts of Team Bahrain, under the leadership of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He commended dedication and the spirit of sacrifice of the medical, nursing and administrative staff, praising continuous follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to ensure availability of vaccines and comprehensive healthcare services for all citizens and residents across Bahrain.

The Shura Council Chairman affirmed that the step taken by the government to establish a new factory for producing Covid-19 vaccines in Bahrain, in cooperation with Russia, represents a milestone in the kingdom’s healthcare system and a boost to Bahrain’s cooperation with the international community to combat the pandemic. He hailed the pivotal role played by the Health and Foreign Ministries in coordinating with the countries to ensure the Bahraini communities there receive vaccines as per the systems and regulations of those countries.

The Shura Council Chairman asserted that the fact that over 1 million people in Bahrain have received the first dose of the vaccines, which are provided for both citizens and residents free of charge, confirms success of the national vaccination campaign and gives positive indices on the kingdom’s ability to handle the pandemic. He underlined the importance of receiving the vaccine and continuing to adhere to the precautionary measures issued by the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus.
