?Shura Chairman: Royal pardon reflects King’s humanitarian approach, respect for human rights

Manama: Shura Council Chairman, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh, has lauded the issuance of a royal decree by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, on pardoning 1486 convicts for humanitarian reasons, and because of the current circumstances.

He asserted that the royal gesture is not surprising, noting that HM the King is “the King of humanity, a man with a big heart, and the first protector of the constitutional provisions aimed at consolidating the pillars of right and justice that safeguard the society’s security and stability”.

Al-Saleh indicated that the royal decree proves that Bahrain is a leader in the human rights field in its correct and comprehensive concept that places national security above all considerations, as it guarantees humans’ basic right to secure and stable life, noting that the royal decree is a bright example of HM the King’s successive initiatives aimed at achieving the interests of the nation and the citizens.

He pointed out that HM the King is a man of big heart, and the father of everyone, who always reaches out to the needs and circumstances of his people, adding that HM King is known as a wise king who seeks peace for his people and the world.

In this regard, he affirmed that since his Accession to the Throne, HM the King has always been keen on promoting the cultures of tolerance, love and welfare for everyone, adding that HM King Hamad places the citizens at the top of his interests, being the ultimate goal of the comprehensive development march witnessed by the kingdom.

He indicated that HM the King’s humanitarian gesture reflects his wise leadership, love and tolerance towards the citizens and respect for the provisions and principles international human rights related to the rights of inmates, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless HM the King with abundant health and happiness so as to continue the progress march in the kingdom.
