SMC Radiology Department conducts 5715 tests in August

The Radiology Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) conducted over 5715 tests during the month of August, as part of a plan to reduce the waiting lists.

 

The department managed to perform 1113 MRI examinations, 1103 CT scans, 3150 imaging tests using ultrasound (sonars) and 349 mammograms”, said Government Hospitals Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari.

 

He praised the efforts the SMC radiology department personnel, who contributed through their dedication and hard work, to serving a larger number of patients and reducing the waiting lists.

 

He said that appointments are being rescheduled, stressing the importance of patients’ commitment to the appointments set for them to ensure timely access to health services and unaffected treatment plans.

 

Last October, a plan was launched to speed up appointments at the SMC Radiology Department, as part of an integrated strategy to reduce waiting lists for health services provided by government hospitals with the aim of providing comprehensive and sustainable health care for all citizens and residents.
