Manama: Representatives Council Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal praised Bahrain as the kingdom of humanitarianism and civilisational initiatives, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Marking the World Humanitarian Day, which is observed on August 19, she lauded the principles of human rights embedded in the comprehensive development march, spearheaded by HM the King. She commended the great efforts of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the distinguished efforts of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, in handling the coronavirus pandemic. She emphasised taking into consideration the international human rights standards to guarantee all people enjoy the right to treatment and healthcare regardless of their nationalities, ethnicity and affiliations.
The Representatives Council Speaker commended the great humanitarian role of the Royal Humanitarian Foundation, under the chairmanship of Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa. She paid tribute to the Bahraini people for setting a model in humanitarian work, mainly during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
