Speaker expresses pride in workers’ pivotal role in development

Manama, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has expressed pride in the pivotal role played by Bahraini workers in enriching national achievements, praising their contributions to the national economy, under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s comprehensive development march.

She also commended Bahraini workers’ creativity, dedication and competence at various work and production sites, which entitles them to always be the first option for employment in the labour market.

In a statement marking the International Workers’ Day, observed worldwide on May 1, the speaker also praised Bahraini workers’ contributions to supporting the national efforts exerted by Team Bahrain, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to confront the novel Coronavirus pandemic and enhance the kingdom’s development process.

She called on production parties to coordinate their efforts in order to preserve jobs and ensure their stability so as to attain more achievements for the kingdom and its workforce, hailing the programmes and plans launched to find employment for national job-seekers and qualify them for the labour market.

She highlighted the Representatives Council’s keenness to support all programmes aimed at finding jobs for Bahrainis and giving them priority.
