Speaker receives Bahraini’s ambassador to US

Speaker Fawzia bint Abdullah Zainal received Bahrain’s Ambassador to the US, Shaikh Abdulla bin Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa.

She confirmed that the human rights system in Bahrain is moving steadily towards more national achievements and civilized initiatives that are transparent, responsible and credible, in accordance with the Humanitarian, legal and international human rights standards, in light of the comprehensive development process of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The speaker expressed the parliament's deep pride in the efforts of the esteemed government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in caring for human rights in various fields and promoting the human rights culture at all levels.

Zainal indicated that the Representatives’ Council is keen to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy in cooperation with Foreign Affairs Ministry and Bahraini embassies abroad, to highlight all civilizational achievements in general, and human rights in particular, to show the development and progress witnessed by the Bahraini human rights record.

She praised the ambassador’s important role in promoting Bahraini-American parliamentary relations, enhancing cooperation in various fields that are in the interest of the two friendly countries, and consolidating close historical relations.

Shaikh Abdullah expressed his appreciation to the speaker and all members of the legislative branch, for their continuous and effective efforts to serve the country and citizens, and to advance the role of parliamentary diplomacy in international forums, to demonstrate the high democratic approach and the human rights record.

He hailed Bahraini parliament’s communication with the councils and parliaments in other countries, and its outstanding interest in strengthening relations and cooperation with the US Congress.
