Speaker stresses Executive-Legislature cooperation to improve services

Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal, has lauded the constant cooperation and coordination between the executive and legislative branches to meet the needs and aspirations of the citizens, as the best means to improve the quality and efficiency of the services delivered to them, based on the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and within the joint national efforts of the Representatives Council and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

She asserted that electricity and water are among the most important vital sectors, given their effective role in preparing infrastructure, which opens up wider horizons for attracting investments and revitalising the national economy.

She affirmed the importance of constant openness to the citizens’ aspirations, and interaction with their remarks vis-à-vis the services delivered to them, particularly regarding bills, stressing the need for creating a permanent review mechanism that ensures the steady improvement of basic services, particularly electricity and water, in line with the goals set in the Government Action Plan, and in response to lawmakers’ proposals.

The speaker made the statements as she received here today the Electricity and Water Affairs Minister, Wael bin Nasser Al-Mubarak, with whom she reviewed the future plans and projects of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), as well as ways to improve the quality of the electricity and water services delivered to the citizens and residents.

The speaker valued highly the efforts exerted by the Electricity and Water Affairs Ministry to improve its services, affirming the keenness of the Council of Representatives to constantly cooperate and coordinate with it in order to ensure the delivery of distinguished services to the citizens and residents.

The Electricity and Water Affairs Minister expressed thanks and appreciation to the speaker for her efforts to raise and discuss issues that are directly related to the interests of the nation and the citizens in order to upgrade the quality and efficiency of the services provided.
