Sulaymaniyah, The Kurdistan Islamic Union rejected any attempts to postpone the parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region.

"There are movements among some Kurdish parties to postpone the parliamentary elections in the region," said Kassem Kalali, Head of the electoral system of the Kurdistan Islamic Union, adding that the Islamic Union supports the holding of legislative elections on time and rejects any attempts to postpone them.

Kalali said that the elections are a legitimate right for citizens to choose their representatives in the Kurdistan Parliament, so any attempts to postpone the parliamentary elections would be a violation of the right of citizens."
