Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi met with the Chairman of the Executive Organising Committee for the International School Games (ISF) Gymnasiade 2024 Ishaq Abdullah Ishaq.
Al Sairafi stressed the Ministry’s commitment to providing all related support and services to the ISF Gymnasiade Bahrain 2024 to be held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Al Sairafi commended the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to the sports sector and athletes in Bahrain.
She also highlighted the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, in this regard.
Al Sairafi noted that the Kingdom possesses an advanced sports infrastructure and has wide-ranging experience in hosting the largest regional and international events.
Bahrain has many multifaceted tourism destinations and programs, which meets the various aspirations of visitors and tourists including athletes, she added.
The minister said that the cooperation between all parties in hosting the event will contribute to the development of the sports tourism industry in Bahrain as a whole.
She stressed that hosting the ISF Gymnasiade 2024 will promote Bahrain as an attractive destination for hosting further sporting events that will greatly increase the tourism sector’s contribution to the GDP as part of the 2022-2026 Kingdom’s Tourism Strategy objectives.
