Tourism Minister visits RCSI – Bahrain Medical University

Tourism Minister Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi paid a visit to the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland – Medical University of Bahrain (RCSI-Bahrain) .

Present were Higher Education Council (HEC) Secretary General, HEC Board of Trustees’ Deputy Chairperson, Dr. Shaikha Rana bint Isa bin Daij Al Khalifa and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nasser Ali Qaidi.

RCSI-Bahrain President Professor Sameer Otoom welcomed the minister and the accompanying delegation and gave an overview about the establishment of the university, specialties and academic plans.

He underlined the university’s commitment to support the national development strategy and the 2030 Economic Vision, backing plans to turn Bahrain into an outstanding regional higher education centre.

He pointed that the university has invested BD100 million since its inception in developing the university campus and facilities, which reflects commitment reflects to support educational development in Bahrain and enhance its contribution to the national economy.

The minister stressed the role of the university in supporting tourism, attracting more than 1300 students from fifty nationalities, enrolling in different medical specialties
