BAGHDAD, President Fuad Masum and his deputy, Iyad Allawi, head of the National Coalition (Watania) stressed the need to form a strong government capable of achieving the ambitions and hopes of the Iraqi people.
A presidential statement said that "Masum received on Monday at Salam Palace, Vice President of the President, head of the National Coalition Iyad Allawi, where they stressed during the meeting to abide by the constitutional deadlines on the call of the House of Representatives new session to be held.
The two sides also discussed "political developments in the country and efforts to form the largest parliamentary bloc in preparation for the call of the new parliament to take its legislative and oversight functions and forming the next government."
The two sides stressed the need to form a strong government capable of achieving the aspirations and hopes of the Iraqi people and provide services and develop the national economy and focus on meeting the just demands of citizens in all the provinces that suffer from water shortages and services, especially Basra.
