MP Imad Wakim stressed on Thursday that Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri was primarily responsible for the formation of the lengthily awaited government, not Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil.
Interviewed by the Voice of Lebanon radio station, the lawmaker said that Bassil "intentionally practices infringement against the prerogatives of the President and Prime Minister in this framework."
He went on to explain that the Lebanese Forces' demands were not an obstacle and that the political party was in contact with all sides.
"The main problem is with Minister Bassil, who is trying to determine the size of political parties," he added.
Wakim finally warned of the seriousness of the economic and regional situations, which cannot tolerate any delay in the formation of a new cabinet.
