BAGHDAD, The United States congratulated Iraq on Thursday on giving confidence to Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and 14 new ministers, describing four of them were as exceptional.

US envoy to Iraq, Brett McGurk, said on Twitter "Congratulations to the new Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, who has sworn in with 14 new ministers, including Oil Ministers Thamer Ghadhban, Electricity Loay Khatib, Finance Fuad Hussein, Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali, Hakim, and these are extraordinary candidates to help Iraq to recover quickly. "

"The United States looks forward to forging partnerships with President Barham Salih, prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, Parliament Speaker Mohamed Halbousi and new Iraqi ministers who aim to improve the services and security of all Iraqi people," he said.

The House of Representatives has voted to give confidence to Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and 14 ministers from the ministerial group presented by him in a session held on Wednesday evening and saw the postponement of the selection of eight other ministers because of objections to their nomination.
